This 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original KF40BF45D0D9X battery in the Garmin Approach G6 handheld golf GPS. The Approach G6 displays course layouts, hole distances, and hazard positions during a round — all of which depend entirely on a functioning battery. When the original cell degrades and can no longer power a full 18 holes, this is the direct replacement.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Approach G6
The Approach G6 receiver draws more power when actively tracking satellites across multiple frequencies. As cell voltage drops toward the low-battery threshold, the G6 reduces receiver sensitivity to extend operation. This shows up as course overlay drift or distances that update more slowly than usual. If distances are lagging mid-round, check the battery indicator — anything below two bars signals the receiver is running in reduced-power mode.
Approach G6 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator hits empty
The G6 fuel gauge calibrates its empty threshold against the original cell's discharge curve. A degraded original cell drops voltage rapidly in the final 20% of capacity, so the device learned to cut off early. After fitting a fresh cell, that threshold is no longer accurate — the unit may still shut off sooner than the indicator suggests for the first few charge cycles. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles on the course and the fuel gauge recalibrates against the new cell's curve. After recalibration, low-battery warnings appear at the correct charge level.
