This 3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin nüvi 2300, 2300LM, 2350LT, 2350LMT, and related models. It matches the OEM part numbers 361-00035-00 and 361-00035-02. The cell measures 51 x 34 x 5mm and fits the factory battery bay without modification.
- nüvi 2300 series fit: These models share the same flat Li-ion cell format, voltage rail, and connector orientation. The battery slots into the same bay across the 2300, 2300LM, 2350LT, and 2350LMT variants because Garmin used a common power platform across this generation.

The nüvi 2300 reduces GPS receiver sensitivity as battery voltage drops toward the low cutoff threshold. This shows up as wider position scatter or slower route recalculation, not a lost signal entirely. The receiver is drawing less current to stretch remaining capacity. Keeping the battery topped up — or running it from the car charger — holds the receiver at full sensitivity throughout a route.
nüvi 2300 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator empties
This happens when the battery percentage indicator is uncalibrated after a replacement. The display may still show one bar when the cell voltage has already hit the BMS low-cutoff threshold, typically around 3.0V. The unit shuts down to protect the cell, but the gauge hasn't caught up. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles and the fuel-gauge calibration will realign with actual cell voltage.
