Garmin StreetPilot C320 / C330 / C340 / C530 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (IA3AB07B1A97)
This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin StreetPilot C320, C330, C340, and C530 portable GPS navigators. It also covers OEM references 361-00022-00, 361-00022-05, and 361-00022-07. When the original cell can no longer hold adequate charge for in-vehicle navigation, this unit restores normal operation.
- StreetPilot C-series compatibility: The C320, C330, C340, and C530 share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V power rail, and connector pinout. One cell covers all four models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a C320 unit. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination at full voltage and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without triggering a hard fault.
- Cold-start behaviour after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. A full power interruption forces a GPS cold start — first fix can take 5–10 minutes versus under a minute for a warm start on a unit that was never fully discharged.
GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the StreetPilot C-series
When battery voltage drops toward 3.4V, some StreetPilot units reduce receiver sensitivity to extend operation time. The GPS signal icon may show full bars, but position accuracy degrades — turns appear late, and speed readings lag. This is a firmware-level power-saving measure, not a receiver fault. Keeping the cell above 3.6V under load during active navigation maintains full receiver sensitivity.
StreetPilot C320 shutting off without a low-battery warning
The battery indicator on these units reads relative to a calibrated voltage curve stored in firmware. After a battery swap, that curve no longer matches the new cell's actual discharge profile. The device can show two bars of charge and cut off seconds later. Run two to three full charge and discharge cycles through active navigation to let the firmware recalibrate the indicator against the new cell's voltage steps. After recalibration, the warning should appear at approximately 3.5V under load before shutdown occurs.
