About this replacement
GEZE SMD / TSA 350N / TSA360NT — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (014944)
This is a 12V 1500mAh Ni-MH battery for the GEZE SMD, TSA 350N, and TSA360NT automatic sliding door systems. It powers the backup circuit that keeps the door operational during a mains failure. OEM part numbers 014944, 12000491, and 502236 all cross to this cell.
- SMD, TSA 350N, and TSA360NT platform: These three units share the same 12V backup rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements. One cell fits all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through simulated mains-fail cycles on the SMD controller. The BMS held charge correctly, the backup circuit activated cleanly, and the door completed full open and close cycles under load.
- Post-install power-fail verification: After fitting this battery, manually trigger a mains-fail test during a low-traffic period. Automatic door backup batteries must complete a full door cycle under motor load — confirm this at installation before relying on it in an emergency.
Door not completing a full open cycle during mains failure
The SMD controller draws a surge of current from the backup battery at the start of each door cycle to drive the motor. If the battery is partially discharged or has aged, voltage sags below the controller's minimum threshold mid-cycle and the door stalls. This is not a controller fault — it is the BMS protecting against deep discharge. A fresh, fully charged 1500mAh cell at 12V will sustain the motor through a complete cycle without voltage sag.
GEZE controller loses its door programming after every power outage
The SMD and TSA-series controllers store door parameters — open width, hold-open time, obstruction sensitivity — in volatile RAM. That RAM is kept alive by the backup battery even when mains power is off. When the backup battery depletes fully, the RAM loses power and all settings reset to factory defaults at the next power-up. Replacing the battery and re-entering the door settings resolves this. After replacement, confirm the backup battery reads at or above 12.0V before closing the controller housing.
