GIONEE GN320 / GN380 / GN205 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-G015)
This is a 3.7V, 1550mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the GIONEE GN320, GN380, and GN205 smartphones. It carries OEM part number BL-G015 and matches the original cell's dimensions at 51.13 × 50.36 × 4.45mm. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to get through a normal day.
- GN320 / GN380 / GN205 compatibility: All three models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and use the same BL-G015 connector footprint. The BMS handshake is identical across the range, so one cell covers all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the GN320 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on the first connect, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and low-voltage cutoff engaged cleanly before the cell dropped below safe limits.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GN320 after a cell swap
The GN320's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge model built around the original cell's impedance. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC misjudges the remaining voltage under modem or screen load. The phone reads 25% but the cell voltage collapses under that draw and the BMS cuts power. One full discharge cycle — drain to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.
GN320 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this cell's voltage has dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS will have engaged a lockout to prevent unsafe charging. Plugging straight into a wall charger may show no response at all. Connect the phone to a low-current USB source — a PC port or a 5V/500mA adapter — and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on. This trickle current is enough to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes.
