GIONEE X805 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-G022)
This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the GIONEE X805 smartphone. It uses OEM part number BL-G022 and fits the X805 directly. Dimensions are 74.15 × 64.40 × 4.50 mm — verify against your existing cell before fitting.
- GIONEE X805 fitment: The X805 uses a removable cell housed in a bay sized for the BL-G022 footprint. The connector pinout carries the thermistor line alongside the main power rails, so the phone's charge IC reads cell temperature during charging. A cell that matches the physical spec keeps that safety circuit active.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a cell analyser, then confirmed the BMS handshake with the charge IC. The thermistor reported within expected tolerance across the full charge window. No false cutoff events occurred during the test run.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after fitting, disable fast charging if your charger supports it, then run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown followed by a full charge. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated reference.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GIONEE X805
This is a voltage cliff issue. Under load — active calls, screen-on browsing, or GPS — the cell voltage drops sharply below what the SoC's power rail needs, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The gauge is reading a stored curve from the old cell, not the actual voltage behaviour of the new one. One full discharge-to-shutdown and recharge cycle resets the coulomb counter and aligns the percentage readout with the new cell's real voltage profile.
Phone warm near the battery during first charge after replacement
A new cell comes with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first charge cycle, the charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, which dissipates more energy as heat than you'd see on a worn-in cell. This is normal for the first one or two cycles and reduces as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone stays warm beyond the third full charge, check that the back cover is fully seated — a gap traps heat against the battery bay.
