This is a 12V 4000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Globus TecarVet 2000 portable veterinary electrotherapy unit. It also fits the MagnetoVet 4000, UltrasoundVet 4000, and Magnum 3500. Capacity is rated at 48Wh, matching the original cell specification.
- Cross-platform fit — TecarVet, MagnetoVet, UltrasoundVet, Magnum: These units share the same 12V battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. The PBT MH0091 part number covers all of them — the cells are interchangeable across the platform without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on a TecarVet 2000 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, completed its self-test sequence, and delivered consistent voltage throughout the discharge curve to the low-voltage cutoff point.
- Power-on self-test — do not interrupt the startup sequence: Globus veterinary devices run a BMS verification check at every startup. If the unit is powered off during this sequence after a battery swap, the device logs a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot. Let the boot cycle finish completely before beginning any treatment session.
Why the TecarVet 2000 alarms low battery on a freshly charged replacement cell
The TecarVet 2000 BMS stores a charge profile calibrated to the original factory cell. A new Ni-MH replacement hasn't completed a learn cycle yet, so the BMS reads the unfamiliar internal resistance signature and flags it as low capacity. This is not a fault with the cell — it is the BMS applying thresholds it hasn't yet adjusted for. Run one full charge-discharge cycle after installation. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm clears.
Device will not power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature. If a replacement cell sat uninstalled for several weeks, its resting voltage may have dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10.5V for a 12V Ni-MH pack. At that level, the BMS blocks power-on as a protection measure and will not respond to a normal start attempt. Connect the unit to mains power first and allow the charger to trickle the pack back above 11V before attempting to boot the device.
