Why the Glutz ES1 shows low battery immediately after a new cell is fitted

The ES1 control board reads cell voltage at startup and compares it against a threshold — typically around 2.7V. Li-MnO2 cells stored below 10°C can read lower than their actual charge state at initial load due to temporary internal resistance. If the cell has been in cold storage, let it reach room temperature before fitting it. After fitting, actuate the lock two or three times to allow the voltage reading to stabilise before trusting the battery indicator.

Bluetooth not reconnecting to the Glutz app after battery replacement

A full power interruption resets the lock's Bluetooth radio state on some ES1 firmware versions. The lock stops advertising to the app until it completes its internal boot sequence — this can take up to 30 seconds after the cell is seated. If the app still shows the lock as offline after that window, open the Glutz app, navigate to the device list, and force a re-scan. On older firmware, a manual re-pair from the app's device settings may be required before Bluetooth control resumes.
