This 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Golf Buddy Buddy World, World Color, and DSC-GB400 GPS navigators. It fits the same footprint as the factory cell — 64.90 × 44.10 × 5.52mm — and connects directly to the existing battery contacts. OEM part numbers PI-A05-05, LI-A1-01, LI-A05-05, and LI-A02-04 all cross to this cell.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Buddy World
As cell voltage drops toward the low-voltage cutoff threshold, some Golf Buddy units reduce power to the GPS receiver module to extend operation. This shows up as slower distance updates or position drift on the course display — not a GPS signal problem, a power management response. A fresh cell holds 3.7V nominal across its discharge curve, keeping the receiver at full sensitivity. If you notice distance readings lagging or jumping, check the battery indicator first before assuming signal loss.
Device shuts off without warning before the battery indicator empties
This happens when the battery indicator is calibrated against the original factory cell's discharge curve, and a degraded or mismatched cell hits the low-voltage cutoff sooner than the indicator expects. The unit reads 30–40% remaining and cuts out anyway because actual cell voltage has already dropped to the 3.0V shutoff threshold. Fitting a new cell with a full capacity curve re-aligns real voltage with the display gauge. After the first full charge cycle, the indicator should track closely again — confirm with a full charge to 4.2V before heading out.
