GoPro Fusion Replacement Battery - Replaces ASBBA-001

$22.56In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits GoPro Fusion and Fusion VR 360 models; replaces OEM part numbers ASBBA-001, 601-12862-000, and SBDC1B.
  • 3.8V, 2620mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 9.96Wh capacity for full 360-degree capture sessions without mid-shoot swaps.
  • Connector type is proprietary GoPro magnetic pogo; orientation locked by contact asymmetry; seats flush into battery door cavity.
  • Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first charge via Fusion body; voltage discharge curve tracked reference cell across full cycle.
  • On first install, run one full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera body before extended shooting—GoPro Fusion firmware requires this cycle to map battery-remaining percentage correctly to the new cell.

About this replacement

GoPro Fusion / Fusion VR 360 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ASBBA-001)

This 3.8V, 2620mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the GoPro Fusion and Fusion VR 360 spherical cameras. It matches the OEM dimensions of 60.40 x 37.88 x 11.42mm, fitting the battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity align directly with GoPro part numbers ASBBA-001, 601-12862-000, and SBDC1B.

  • Fusion and Fusion VR 360 fitment: Both camera variants use the same battery bay geometry and BMS handshake protocol. The connector pinout and cell voltage are identical across the Fusion lineup, so one cell covers both models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Fusion body. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and voltage under dual-lens load held within the expected range for the platform.
  • First-cycle initialisation on the Fusion: Charge this cell fully inside the Fusion body or GoPro OEM charger before your first shoot. The Fusion's BMS maps its battery-remaining display to the discharge curve during that first cycle — skipping it causes the indicator to read inaccurately from the start.

Why the Fusion battery indicator reads erratically after a cell swap

The Fusion uses a voltage-threshold model to estimate remaining charge. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the aged OEM cell it replaces, so the camera's percentage estimate misaligns until the BMS recalibrates. This shows up as the indicator jumping from 80% to 20% without warning, or stalling at a fixed number for long stretches. One full charge-to-discharge cycle inside the camera body lets the BMS remap its thresholds to the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, the indicator tracks correctly.

Fusion showing a dead-battery icon on a cell you just charged

This happens when the Fusion's BMS performs an authentication check on first contact with a replacement cell and fails to receive an expected response. The camera displays a dead or missing battery icon even though the cell is fully charged. Power the camera off completely, remove the battery for 15 seconds, reinsert it, then charge via the OEM charger or in-body USB before powering on. If voltage at the terminals reads above 3.6V and the icon persists, repeat the power-cycle once more — the BMS typically accepts the cell on the second attempt.
