Ni-MH cells under load show a voltage curve that drops sharply when capacity is partially depleted — the battery indicator on the 467587 reads the resting voltage, not load voltage. Under motor load, actual cell voltage can sag below the motor controller's minimum threshold well before the indicator reacts. A partially blocked filter compounds this: restricted airflow forces the motor to draw above its rated current, accelerating the sag. Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When the vacuum's filter is clogged or the intake is blocked, the motor stalls against restricted airflow and draws a current spike that the BMS interprets as a short or overload — it cuts power to protect the cells. After a few seconds, the BMS resets and allows the motor to restart. Clear the filter and check the intake path for blockages. If the cutout continues with a clean filter, the cell pack's internal resistance has risen enough that normal motor-start current is now tripping the BMS — replace the battery.
