This is a 14.8V 2600mAh (38.48Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Gorenje MVC148FW and Free Go MVC148FW cordless handheld vacuums. It replaces OEM part number 590982 directly. Fit it when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or fails to power on the motor at all.
- MVC148FW and Free Go MVC148FW compatibility: Both models run the same 14.8V cell architecture with the same connector and BMS handshake. The 590982 part number covers the full platform — one battery fits both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge-discharge runs on the MVC148FW platform. The BMS handled motor-start current draw without tripping, and charge termination cut in cleanly at 16.8V across multiple cycles.
- Dock charging habit on the MVC148FW: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Cordless vacs on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the MVC148FW, suction can fall noticeably while the battery indicator still shows two or three bars. This happens because a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes the cell voltage to sag under load — even though the resting voltage looks fine. The BMS reads voltage under load, not resting voltage, so it throttles motor power early to protect the cell. Clear the filter first and check whether suction recovers before assuming the battery is at fault.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when restricted airflow — usually a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces sustained high current draw past the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells, then resets once current demand drops. To stop it recurring, remove, tap out, and rinse the filter, then confirm the nozzle path is clear before restarting the vacuum.
