- SVC216 series compatibility: All four models in this lineup share the same 22.2V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between them is straightforward — the cell pack, housing dimensions, and handshake signals are identical across the range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell pack through charge and discharge cycles on the SVC216FS platform. The BMS negotiated correctly with the charger, protection circuits triggered as expected at overdischarge thresholds, and the motor controller received clean voltage throughout the discharge curve.
- Dock charging behaviour on this vacuum: Do not leave the vacuum seated on the charging dock continuously. Gorenje SVC216-series vacuums on permanent dock charge develop measurable capacity fade faster than units charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The SVC216FS motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the bin is overfull. Under that extra load, cell voltage sags early and the motor controller reduces power before the indicator LED signals low charge. The battery is not at fault — the restricted airflow is forcing higher current draw than the motor was pulling under clean conditions. Clear the filter and empty the bin, then retest; suction should hold consistent across the full discharge cycle.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When suction is sustained against a blockage — hair wrap on the brush roll, a clogged pre-motor filter — current draw spikes beyond the protection threshold and the BMS interrupts output. After a brief pause the BMS resets and power returns, which is why it feels intermittent. Check the brush roll for obstructions and inspect the pre-motor filter; if it reads grey or compacted, rinse and dry it fully before reinstalling. A clean airpath keeps motor current within the BMS's rated window.
