Funai SCT1000 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 3.6V 300mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Funai SCT1000 cordless phone handset. It replaces the original cell when the handset can no longer hold a charge through a normal day of use. Swap it in when the handset dies faster than expected or won't power on after sitting in the base.
- SCT1000 handset fit: The SCT1000 runs a single 3.6V NiMH cell with a standard three-tab connector. The voltage and physical footprint match the original, so the handset's charging circuit accepts it without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible analyser. The BMS accepted the charge curve without rejecting the pack, and voltage held steady at 3.6V nominal through each cycle.
- First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cordless batteries arrive partially discharged from storage and need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — a shorter first charge sets a lower ceiling that persists.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
NiMH cells often underperform for the first three to five full charge-discharge cycles. The chemistry needs repeated cycling to fully activate all available capacity — this is normal and not a fault with the cell. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator triggers, then return it to the base for a full charge. By cycle four or five, talk time stabilises at the rated capacity.

A NiMH cell that has sat in storage drops below the voltage threshold some base stations use to confirm a valid pack is present. If the base shows no charge activity or an error indicator, remove the handset, hold the power button for five seconds to drain residual charge, then reseat it in the base. The base should then detect the cell and begin the charge cycle at the correct 3.6V rail.
