Gude GHS 520 18 Li-ion / GRT 260 18 Li-ion — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (95510)
This is an 18V 2000mAh (36Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Gude GHS 520 18 Li-ion cordless hedge trimmer and compatible 18V platform tools. It also fits the GLB 200 18 Li-Ion and GRT 260 18 Li-ion. The OEM part numbers covered include 95510, 95513, 95514, 95515, 95517, 95519, and 490476.

When the dual-blade motor engages, it pulls a short inrush spike well above the steady cutting current. A fresh pack with a conservative BMS — or one that has not yet profiled the load — can read that spike as an overcurrent fault and cut power instantly. The tool goes dead on the trigger pull, then resets after a few seconds. This is not a faulty battery; it is the BMS responding to an unfamiliar load signature. Two break-in cycles at half load teach the BMS where the normal spike ceiling sits.

Li-ion packs self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, the Gude charger's acceptance circuit will not initiate a full charge cycle and signals a fault with a red blink. Some chargers include a recovery or wake mode — hold the pack in the charger for 5–10 minutes and check whether the light transitions to a steady charge state. If the charger never progresses, use a bench charger with a manual Li-ion recovery function set to 0.1C to bring cell voltage back above 3.0V per cell before returning to the standard charger.
