$17.62In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Hagenuk WP 300X and SL30080 cordless phones, replacing OEM battery part number BT-589.
  • 3.6V Ni-MH chemistry at 700mAh capacity restores full talk and standby time to the handset.
  • Connector slides onto the handset battery contacts with a single locking tab on the rear.
  • We bench-tested the BMS on a WP 300X base charger — the pack accepted charge without fault codes.
  • Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH packs require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

About this replacement

Hagenuk WP 300X / SL30080 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BT-589)

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Hagenuk WP 300X and SL30080 cordless handsets. It slots directly into the handset battery compartment and connects to the same three-pin contact used by the original BT-589 pack. When the original cell loses the ability to hold a charge, this unit restores full talk and standby performance.

  • WP 300X and SL30080 compatibility: Both models share the BT-589 form factor — same cell count, same 3.6V rail, and the same physical footprint of 45.61 × 31.49 × 10.84mm. One battery fits both handsets without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH test rig. The BMS accepted charge from a standard DECT base station without trip or error, and voltage held steady across the full discharge curve.
  • First-charge conditioning on Ni-MH handsets: After fitting the new pack, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before making a call. Ni-MH cells in DECT handsets need a slow, uninterrupted initial charge to reach rated capacity — shorter first charges leave usable capacity on the table for the first several cycles.

Why the WP 300X shows shorter talk time for the first few cycles on a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and take three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach rated capacity. On cycle one, the WP 300X may show noticeably shorter talk time — this is not a fault with the battery or the base station. Each subsequent full cycle brings the cells closer to their 700mAh rating. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat until talk time stabilises.

Base station charge light stays off or shows an error after fitting the new pack

A new Ni-MH pack sitting in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the DECT base expects before it begins a charge cycle. If the base shows no charge indication or an error light, remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and re-seat it firmly so all three contacts engage. If the base still does not begin charging, check the handset contacts are clean and unobstructed — a thin film of oxidation on either side is enough to break the circuit. The base should begin the charge cycle once the cell voltage reads above approximately 3.0V at the contact point.
