It fits the Omni 50 Plus and restores cordless audio playback when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge. Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty
As a lithium-polymer cell ages, its internal resistance climbs. When the amplifier pulls a high current burst — loud bass transients or maximum volume — the pack voltage sags below what the amp needs to operate cleanly. The speaker clips the audio signal before the battery indicator shows critical. This is voltage sag under load, not a capacity problem. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag, and clean audio returns at full volume. Charge the replacement fully before the first long session, then confirm the battery indicator stabilises above 3.7V per cell under load.
Omni 50+ warm to the touch after an hour of playback
The Omni 50+ houses the amplifier board and battery pack inside a fabric-wrapped enclosure with limited airflow. During extended playback, amplifier heat and battery discharge heat accumulate together. A degraded cell with high internal resistance generates more heat under the same current draw, making the housing noticeably warmer than normal. A fresh pack with low internal resistance reduces the battery's heat contribution. If the speaker still runs hot with a new cell, check that the fabric grille is not blocked during use.
