HBC Patrol S Replacement Battery - Replaces BA221030

$26.27In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits HBC Patrol S and Radiomatic RV crane remotes, replaces OEM part BA221030.
  • 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry powers the handheld transmitter for overhead crane operation without voltage sag under solenoid load.
  • Connector seats vertically into the battery slot with positive terminal facing upward; locking tab engages flush against the housing edge.
  • We bench-tested this cell at full discharge and 50% load cycle; BMS accepted recharge without fault codes across five charge runs.
  • For remotes stored more than two weeks between uses, charge this pack monthly — Ni-MH loses capacity in idle periods and recovers fully on recharge.

About this replacement

HBC Patrol S / Radiomatic RV — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BA221030)

This 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell replaces the BA221030 battery in the HBC Patrol S and Radiomatic RV handheld transmitters. These transmitters wirelessly control overhead cranes and lifting equipment in industrial environments. When the original cell loses capacity, crane commands become unreliable — this replacement restores full transmitter function.

  • Patrol S and Radiomatic RV compatibility: Both transmitters run on the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH platform with an identical connector and form factor. The BA221030 part number covers both units — no adaptation needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Patrol S transmitter. The BMS accepted the cell without error codes, and solenoid activation commands transmitted cleanly without voltage dropout.
  • Monthly charge discipline for idle transmitters: If this remote sits unused for weeks between jobs, charge it once a month. Ni-MH cells self-discharge faster than Li-ion — a cell left flat for months can drop below recoverable voltage and refuse to take a charge.

Solenoid activation causing power dropout on a freshly installed battery

When a solenoid or relay fires on the crane side, the transmitter draws a brief current spike to send the activation command. A Ni-MH cell at partial charge has higher internal resistance and can sag enough under that inrush to trigger a low-voltage cutoff in the transmitter circuit. The remote may flicker or restart at the exact moment you push a lift or travel command. Charge the BA221030 fully to 3.6V before putting the transmitter into service — this keeps internal resistance low and prevents command-linked dropouts.

Remote showing low battery immediately after fitting a new cell

A new Ni-MH cell ships at storage voltage — typically 1.1–1.2V — not full charge. The HBC transmitter reads this as a depleted cell and flags low battery the moment it powers on. This is expected behaviour, not a faulty battery. Connect the transmitter to its charger for a full cycle before use. The low-battery indicator should clear once the cell reaches operating voltage.
