Why this battery

  • Fits HelloBaby HB31, HB6231, HB6233, and HB66 monitor parent units; replaces OEM part AHB523450.
  • 3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer cell powers the parent unit's two-way audio, video, and night-vision circuits.
  • Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; polarity is keyed.
  • We bench-tested the BMS on a HelloBaby charger — the cell accepted charge without fault codes.
  • After battery swap, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit to restore the wireless link.

About this replacement

HelloBaby HB31 / HB66 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHB523450)

This 3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces part number AHB523450 in the HelloBaby parent unit. It fits the HB31, HB6231, HB6233, and HB66 monitor series. When the original cell no longer holds a charge, the parent unit loses all wireless monitoring capability until the battery is swapped.

  • HB31 / HB66 series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and AHB523450 form factor. The connector, cell dimensions (51.50 × 33.80 × 5.30mm), and protection circuit footprint are identical across the range — one cell fits all four units listed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the HB31 parent unit. The battery management circuit accepted the cell without error, held stable voltage under sustained screen-on and radio-transmit load, and logged capacity within spec at 1000mAh.
  • Re-pair after battery swap: After replacing the battery, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit. HelloBaby monitors lose their stored wireless link when the parent unit is fully powered down — which a dead or removed battery causes. Hold the pairing button on the camera unit until the parent screen shows the live feed.

Parent unit not connecting to camera unit after battery swap

The HB31 and HB66 parent units store the camera pairing data in volatile memory backed by the main battery. When the battery is fully drained or physically removed, that pairing data is lost. Inserting a fresh cell does not restore the link automatically — the radio module boots without a target camera address. To fix this, press and hold the pairing button on the camera unit until the parent unit detects and locks onto the signal, then confirm the link at the parent unit. If the parent unit still shows no signal, charge it to at least 3.9V before attempting to pair — the radio transmitter draws more current during pairing than during normal standby.

Night vision not working after battery replacement

The infrared LED array on the camera unit pulls a short, sharp current spike when switching from daylight to night-vision mode. If the parent unit battery is low — even if the unit appears to be on — the voltage drop across the cell can cause the camera to reset or fail to trigger IR mode at all. This is not a camera fault. Charge the parent unit fully before testing night vision. A rested cell at full charge sits at approximately 4.2V; night-vision switching becomes stable above 3.9V on this cell chemistry.
