This is an 18V 3000mAh (54Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the HiKOKI UB18DJL cordless impact driver and compatible 18V HiKOKI tools including the WF18DSL series. It uses OEM part numbers BSL36B18 and BSL36A18. Slot it into any compatible 18V HiKOKI slide-mount platform and the BMS handshakes immediately with the tool's power management circuit.
- UB18DJL and WF18DSL platform fit: These models share the same 18V slide-rail connector and BMS communication protocol. The battery's cell configuration and protection board match the voltage rail and current draw profile that both tools expect at trigger pull.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on an 18V HiKOKI platform. The BMS tracked cell balance across all five cells and held overcurrent protection thresholds consistent with HiKOKI's OEM specification under repeated inrush load events.

BMS cutoff on UB18DJL motor-start inrush surge
Impact drivers pull a sharp current spike the instant the motor fires — on the UB18DJL, that inrush can exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold on a cold or freshly installed pack. The protection circuit reads that spike as a fault and cuts output before the motor reaches working speed. A new battery stored at partial charge is especially vulnerable because cell impedance is higher at rest. Warm the pack to room temperature and complete one full charge before heavy fastening work to bring cell impedance down to normal operating range.
Tool bogs under sustained load but recovers when you release the trigger
If the UB18DJL loses torque mid-drive but snaps back when you lift off the trigger, the cause is voltage sag, not cell failure. High rail contact resistance at the battery terminals drops the delivered voltage under load, pulling it below the tool's minimum operating threshold. Check the slide-rail contacts on both the battery and the tool for corrosion or debris — clean with a dry brush or contact eraser. Rail voltage under load should sit above 16.2V; below that, the tool's control board begins throttling output.
