Hisense HS-U970 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LI37200C)
This is a 3.7V, 2150mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original LI37200C battery in the Hisense HS-U970 and related models. It fits the HS-U970, HS-U966, HS-T970, and HS-T968, among others sharing the same battery bay and connector. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly.
- HS-U970 series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V power rail, physical footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. The LI37200C connector and protection circuit layout are consistent across the HS-U9xx and HS-T9xx lines, so one cell covers all listed fits without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the HS-U970 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, the charge IC completed a full CC-CV cycle, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at both low-voltage cutoff and overcharge thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's actual discharge curve before fast charge pushes higher current into an uncalibrated state.
Why the HS-U970 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC in the HS-U970 stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell's impedance and capacity. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the physical cell. The IC keeps using its old reference, so the percentage it reports drifts from actual state of charge. One full discharge to auto-off followed by a full charge to 100% lets the coulomb counter reset its endpoints against the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under the combined load of the modem, screen, and background processes — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge did not predict. The phone's power IC sees voltage fall below its cutoff threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty cell; it is an uncalibrated gauge reading a new discharge curve. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate and the shutdowns typically stop as the gauge learns the cell's true low-voltage behaviour around 3.2–3.3V.
