The HME base station reads the battery's BMS before displaying a charge state. A new cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — which sits below the threshold the base expects to see at dock insertion. The base interprets this as a fault rather than a low cell. Seat the headset firmly in the dock, leave it undisturbed for at least 15 minutes, and the BMS will complete its handshake. The error clears once the cell climbs above 3.7V.

The 6000 I.Q draws from two loads simultaneously — the DECT radio and the audio circuit. Under combined draw, a cell that reads full at rest can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold mid-transmission. This is more common in the first few cycles before the cell has reached its rated capacity. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles through normal use and the voltage sag reduces as the cell conditions. If cutouts persist past five cycles, check the dock contacts for oxidation and clean them with a dry cloth before replacing the cell again.
