Honeywell CT47 / CT45 — 3.87V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CT4X-BTSC)
This is a 3.87V, 4700mAh Li-ion battery for the Honeywell CT47 and CT45 mobile computers. It replaces OEM parts CT4X-BTSC and CT4X-BTSC-01. These handhelds are used in warehouse, retail, and logistics environments where a dead cell means a stalled pick line.
- CT47 and CT45 compatibility: Both models run the same voltage rail and use an identical battery bay with the same BMS handshake protocol. One battery services both devices across a mixed fleet without any wiring or firmware differences to manage.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through rapid-fire scan bursts combined with active Wi-Fi polling. The BMS handled the combined inrush without a false cutoff trip, and cell voltage held flat across the mid-range of the discharge curve.
- First-shift preparation for CT47 / CT45: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. The scan trigger draws the highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum, and starting from a full charge prevents false BMS trips during that first burst.

A charging error on a fresh pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a faulty cell. The CT47 cradle uses spring-loaded dock contacts that collect dust and oxidation quickly in warehouse environments. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, then firmly reseat the device. If the error clears within 30 seconds, the cell is fine and charging will proceed normally.

The CT47 runs its imager and its Wi-Fi radio simultaneously, and a rapid scan burst spikes the combined current draw sharply. If the cell is already depleted, this inrush can pull cell voltage below the BMS protection threshold momentarily, causing the radio stack to drop. The device may reconnect within seconds but will log the drop as a wireless fault. Keeping the cell above 20% charge during high-frequency scanning eliminates this — check the battery indicator before starting any high-volume scan session.
