Honeywell CW45 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CW45-BAT)
This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery for the Honeywell CW45 mobile computer. It fits the CW45 handheld terminal used in warehouse, logistics, and retail scan environments. OEM part numbers CW45-BAT, CW45-BAT-S, and 3010-8461-001 all cross to this pack.
- CW45 platform fit: The CW45 uses a dedicated battery bay with a three-contact interface tied directly to the BMS. The connector layout and contact pitch on this pack match that bay exactly, so the terminal handshakes with the BMS without error codes or charge refusals.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst sequences on a CW45 unit and monitored BMS behaviour across the discharge curve. The protection circuit held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted a full cradle charge without fault flags.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, place the CW45 in its charging cradle for a complete charge cycle before use. Scan trigger inrush current spikes highest when the cell is near minimum — a pre-charged pack prevents the BMS from tripping on that first burst during a pick-and-pack shift.

A charging error on a fresh pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a battery fault. Dock contacts on high-use cradles accumulate oxidation and debris that interrupts the BMS communication line. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, and reseat firmly. If the cradle clears the error and begins charging, the contacts were the cause — not the cell.

The CW45 draws simultaneously from the wireless radio and the imager during rapid scanning sequences. When both loads hit at once, a degraded or partially charged cell can sag below the voltage floor the radio needs to hold its connection. The BMS doesn't trip, but the radio drops. Charge the pack fully before a high-volume shift and confirm cell voltage reads above 3.6V at rest before use.
