This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion cell for the Honeywell OH4502 and OH4502 2D Laser Wireless barcode scanner. It replaces the original INR18650-3SC cylindrical cell used in handheld mobile data collection devices across retail, warehousing, and logistics environments. Slot it into any OH4502 unit that shows shortened shift endurance or fails to hold a charge.
- OH4502 and OH4502 2D Laser Wireless compatibility: Both scanner variants draw from the same 3.7V rail using the INR18650-3SC cell format. The BMS handshake, connector footprint, and cell dimensions — 66.00 × 21.40 × 18.60mm — are identical across the series, so one cell fits both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through repeated scan-trigger and wireless transmission loads. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and did not trip on combined radio-plus-imager inrush during burst scanning sequences.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before starting pick-and-pack. Scan-trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage, and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips during the first active shift.

A charging error on a freshly installed cell almost always comes from dock contact resistance, not a faulty cell. The cradle's charge controller reads contact voltage to verify the pack is seated — high resistance at the contacts causes it to flag an error before charging starts. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears, the contacts were the issue, not the cell chemistry.

Rapid-fire scanning pulls from the same cell that's simultaneously powering the wireless radio. When an ageing or partially charged cell can't supply the combined inrush, voltage sags briefly and the radio drops its connection to the access point. The scanner may reconnect within seconds, making the fault look intermittent. Confirm the cell is fully charged before the shift — the voltage should read at or above 4.1V on a full charge — and the problem typically stops.
