Hoover FE18ALi Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (48022900)
This 18V 2500mAh Li-ion pack replaces the original battery in the Hoover FE18ALi and FE18ALI 011 cordless stick vacuums. It matches OEM part numbers 48022900 and FEBAT18VLI. When the original pack degrades and suction weakens before the indicator hits low, this is the direct swap.
- FE18ALi and FE18ALI 011 fit: Both models run the same 18V rail with the same connector and BMS handshake. One battery cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the FE18ALi charger and confirmed BMS handshake, charge acceptance, and cutoff voltage at full charge. The motor draw under simulated carpet load stayed within BMS trip thresholds.
- Dock charging habit for FE18ALi users: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the dock between uses. The FE18ALi charger does not drop to a true maintenance mode — continuous dock time applies a slow trickle that degrades cell capacity faster than regular charge-and-remove cycles.
Suction dropping well before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects, usually because a partially blocked filter raises resistance in the airflow path. The BMS reads the resulting voltage sag as a low-charge condition and begins throttling output. The indicator lags behind actual voltage under load, so the display still shows mid-charge while suction is already falling. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction restores on a fresh charge, the battery is not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause
This is an overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the vacuum encounters sustained airflow restriction — blocked filter, clogged brush roll, or tight carpet pile — the motor pulls current above the BMS trip threshold. The BMS cuts output to protect the cells, then resets after a few seconds of rest. If this only happens on carpets or after a blockage, clear the airflow path before replacing the battery. If it trips on hard floors with a clean filter, test the pack resting voltage — a healthy 18V Li-ion cell should read at least 18V at full charge and no lower than 15V under normal load.
