This 18V 5000mAh Li-ion battery replaces part number 48022900 (also listed as FEBAT18VLI) in Hoover FE18ALi and FE18ALI 011 cordless stick vacuums. It slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same BMS handshake as the factory pack. Capacity comes in at 5000mAh / 90Wh — matching the original specification.
- FE18ALi and FE18ALI 011 fitment: Both variants run the same 18V power rail, identical battery connector, and the same BMS communication protocol. One battery covers both. No adapters or wiring changes needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start loads and sustained suction draws. The BMS held voltage within spec under continuous operation and tripped correctly on overcurrent — no false cutoffs during normal use.
- Dock charging on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging degrades Li-ion cell capacity faster than normal charge cycles. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The FE18ALi motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — often two to three times the rated draw under normal flow. That extra current load causes voltage to sag at the cells before the indicator registers a low-battery state. The result is noticeably weaker suction while the LED still shows a healthy charge. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction recovers immediately, the battery is fine.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained airflow restriction forces the motor to pull above the BMS current threshold, the pack shuts output down as a protection measure. The BMS resets automatically once current normalises — typically within 5 to 10 seconds. If this happens repeatedly, the cause is almost always a blocked filter or a partial clog in the pickup nozzle, not a fault with the battery pack itself.
