- H Free platform compatibility: All H Free models on this listing share the same 21.6V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between models in this range is not supported — the battery is locked to this voltage tier by the vacuum's motor controller.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the H Free charging cycle and confirmed the BMS negotiates correctly with the stock charger. Charge acceptance was normal, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected overcurrent threshold during a simulated blockage test.
- Dock charging behaviour on the H Free: Remove the vacuum from the charging dock once the indicator shows full. The H Free dock does not cut trickle charge automatically after completion, so cells left docked continuously develop capacity fade faster than those charged only when depleted.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the H Free, suction loss often gets blamed on the battery when the real cause is a partially blocked filter forcing the motor to draw above its rated current. The BMS reads this elevated draw and begins stepping down power delivery to protect the cell — suction drops but the battery LED still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the foam and HEPA filters first. If suction recovers immediately after cleaning, the battery was not the fault.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then restarts after a pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. Sustained restricted airflow — usually a full dust cup or a clogged cyclone inlet — pushes motor current above the protection threshold and the BMS disconnects the cell. After 30–60 seconds, the BMS resets and power returns. Empty the dust cup, clear the cyclone mesh, and check that the filter is seated correctly. If cut-outs continue on a clear machine, measure resting cell voltage — a healthy pack at partial charge should read above 20V.
