Hoover H-FREE 500 — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (35602207)
This is a 21.6V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Hoover H-FREE 500 cordless stick vacuum. It replaces OEM part numbers 35602207 and B011. Fit the battery to the H-FREE 500 and it powers the motor at the same voltage the original cell did.
- H-FREE 500 fitment: The H-FREE 500 uses a dedicated 21.6V battery bay with a fixed connector orientation and BMS handshake. This pack matches that connector and communicates with the vacuum's control board — the motor and suction modes function the same as with the factory cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on the H-FREE 500 platform and confirmed BMS communication across both standard and boost suction modes. Overcurrent protection tripped correctly under a simulated blockage and reset without faults once airflow was restored.
- Dock charging habit on the H-FREE 500: The H-FREE 500 charging dock does not cut power once the cell reaches full charge. Leave the vacuum on the dock permanently and the cells take a continuous trickle that accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove it from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The H-FREE 500 motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — the BMS sees the elevated draw and reduces power delivery to stay within safe discharge limits. This makes suction feel weak even when the battery indicator still shows two or three bars. The battery is not necessarily failing; the motor is pulling harder than rated because airflow is restricted. Clean or replace the filter and test again before concluding the cell is at fault.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. Under sustained restricted suction — a blocked nozzle, a clogged filter, or heavy carpet fibres packing the brush roll — current draw spikes past the BMS threshold and the pack shuts output momentarily. After a few seconds the BMS resets and power returns. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and confirm the brush roll spins freely. If the cut-out stops after clearing the restriction, the battery is functioning correctly.
