HP 2133 Mini-Note — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (482262-001)
This is a 10.8V 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion battery for the HP 2133 Mini-Note netbook. It replaces OEM parts 482262-001, KU528AA, HSTNN-DB63, HSTNN-IB63, and HSTNN-IB64. It fits the standard battery bay on all 2133 Mini-Note variants including KX868AT, KR939UT, and KZ986PA/KZ987PA configurations.
- 2133 Mini-Note compatibility: All listed 2133 variants share the same battery bay geometry, 10.8V rail, and BMS handshake protocol — the same cell works across the full KX, KR, and KZ model codes without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 2133 Mini-Note unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state of charge through multiple cycles.
- Post-install calibration on the 2133 Mini-Note: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after swapping cells in this model.
BIOS reporting poor battery health after fitting a new cell
The HP 2133 Mini-Note stores battery health data in EEPROM on the original cell. When a replacement cell goes in, the BIOS reads that stale data and flags the battery as degraded or unknown — even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the BIOS to rewrite the learn cycle against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the warning on the next boot.
Laptop shutting down unexpectedly at 20–30% charge shown
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell — it still maps state of charge using data from the old, degraded cell. Under combined CPU and display load, the actual cell voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the BMS triggers a hard cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Complete two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate. After calibration, the shutdown point should track accurately down to the BMS low-voltage cutoff near 9.0V.
