HP Omen 15-AX200 Series — 15.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TE04XL)
This is a 15.4V, 4000mAh (61.6Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the HP Omen 15-AX200 gaming laptop series. It fits the AX200NA, AX200NX, AX201NC, and hundreds of other AX200-family variants that share the TE04XL specification. If your original battery no longer holds charge under unplugged gaming load, this is the direct cell replacement.
- AX200 series compatibility: Every model in this family runs the same 15.4V four-cell Li-Polymer pack with a matching BMS handshake and connector pinout. HP used identical battery architecture across the AX200 range, so one SKU covers the full lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, discharge, and BMS communication checks on an Omen 15-AX200 unit. The BMS initialised correctly, charge current stepped down at the expected 95% threshold, and no fault codes appeared during the cycle.
- Post-install calibration on the Omen 15: After fitting, run the laptop down until it hibernates on its own — do not force shutdown. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the false "poor health" warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the TE04XL
The HP Omen 15 reads EEPROM data embedded in the old battery pack and compares it against the new cell's reported charge history. A fresh cell has no cycle data, so the BIOS flags it as degraded — this is a firmware logic issue, not a fault with the replacement. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge writes new baseline data to the BIOS battery register. After two or three full cycles, the health indicator should return to normal status in HP Support Assistant and in the Windows battery report.
Omen 15 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC — the small chip that estimates remaining capacity — has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The old cell's voltage cliff data is still loaded, so the gauge misjudges remaining capacity and triggers shutdown early. It is not a sign that the replacement battery is faulty. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles with an uninterrupted charge to 100% between each one; by the third cycle the gauge IC recalibrates and the cutoff point drops back to the correct low-voltage threshold near 3.0V per cell.
