Why the HTC Flyer shuts down at 15–25% after a battery replacement

The Flyer's fuel gauge IC builds a voltage-to-capacity map over charge cycles. When a new cell goes in, that map still reflects the old battery's discharge curve. Under combined screen and Wi-Fi load, voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, and Android triggers a low-battery shutdown before the gauge reaches zero. One complete discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted full charge resets this map against the new cell. After that cycle, the shutdown threshold should stabilise at or below 5%.

Tablet stuck in boot loop immediately after battery installation

A boot loop on first power-up after a swap usually means the battery voltage is too low from storage for the Flyer's charge IC to hand off to the main board correctly. Connect the charger before pressing the power button and leave it for 10–15 minutes. The charge IC needs to bring the cell above approximately 3.0V before the system rail can stabilise. Once the charging LED activates and holds steady, a normal boot will complete.
