It replaces the original battery when the phone shuts down unexpectedly, charges slowly, or holds less capacity than it once did. Capacity is rated at 11.08Wh — matched to the OEM specification.

- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Honor Magic platform. The BMS accepted the cell without lockout, charge termination fired at the correct cutoff voltage, and protection tripped cleanly at both over-voltage and under-voltage thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — preventing erratic percentage readings from the start.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
A new cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity curve than the aged original. The fuel gauge IC still uses the old curve, so it reads 25% while the actual cell voltage has already dropped near the BMS cutoff threshold. Under modem transmission load or screen brightness spikes, the voltage sags past that threshold and the phone shuts off. One full discharge-to-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter against the new cell and eliminates most of these shutdowns.
USB fast charge not triggering on the first cycle after installation
After a cell swap, the charge IC on the Honor Magic may default to standard 5V/1A charging for the first session while it negotiates with the new BMS. This is a safety hold — not a fault. Disconnect and reconnect the charger after the phone has booted fully. If fast charge still does not trigger, complete one full standard charge cycle first; the IC typically accepts the fast-charge handshake from the second cycle onward.
