This is a 3.82V, 6000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Huawei MediaPad M6 8.4 tablet. It fits the VRD-AL09 and VRD-W09 variants. The original HB30A7C1ECW cell degrades with charge cycles, and this replacement restores the capacity the tablet shipped with.
- VRD-AL09 and VRD-W09 compatibility: Both variants use the same 3.82V cell rail, identical flex connector, and the same charge IC on the board. One battery fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the MediaPad M6 charge IC at full charge rate. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, balanced correctly at 4.35V, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the expected low-voltage cutoff.
- Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell — this single cycle resets it against the new cell and corrects the inaccurate percentage display that almost always appears after a swap.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under combined display and WiFi load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge expects, and the charge IC interprets a brief sag as a low-voltage cutoff condition. The tablet shuts down before the reported percentage reaches zero. Running one full calibration cycle — full discharge to automatic shutoff, then an uninterrupted charge to 100% — aligns the fuel gauge to the actual discharge curve of the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 15–25% stop occurring.
Fast charging not available after battery swap
If the MediaPad M6 drops to standard charge rate after installation, the USB-PD negotiation or Huawei's proprietary charge protocol did not complete against the new cell on the first cycle. This is not a wiring fault. Use the original Huawei charger and cable — third-party adapters often fail the handshake. Complete one full charge cycle from below 10% to 100% without interruption, and fast charge availability restores on the following cycle.
