This is a 3550mAh Li-Polymer cell at 3.85V, replacing the original HB436380ECW battery in the Huawei P30 and P30 Premium Edition range — including ELE-AL00 variants. It fits the same footprint at 78.72 × 61.70 × 4.32mm and connects to the same charge IC and fuel gauge found across the P30 lineup.
- P30 series fit: The P30, P30 Premium Edition, P30 Premium Edition Dual SIM, and ELE-AL00 variants all share the HB436380ECW connector pinout, voltage rail, and BMS handshake. Swapping between these models requires no adapter or rewiring.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on a P30 unit. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no anomalies logged.
- First-cycle fast charge tip: On first use after installation, disable Huawei SuperCharge for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement P30 cell
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. The fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory, so it reads 25% while the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the threshold needed to sustain the Kirin processor and modem under simultaneous load. The phone cuts power to protect the SoC before the reported percentage reaches zero. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the coulomb counter to resync against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage readings track voltage correctly.
SuperCharge not activating after battery replacement
Huawei's SuperCharge protocol requires a handshake between the charger, the charge IC on the board, and the battery's BMS. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS may not respond to the high-current negotiation on the first plug-in — the phone defaults to standard 5V charging as a fallback. Unplug, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect with the original SuperCharge adapter. If the protocol still won't negotiate after two attempts, complete one standard-speed full charge first — this initialises the BMS state machine and clears the fallback condition.
