BMS cutoff under thick grass or wet-lawn blade load
The Automower blade motor draws significantly more current through dense or wet grass than on a dry, maintained lawn. If the pack's BMS detects a current spike beyond its protection threshold — typically caused by the motor stalling briefly on a clump — it cuts output to protect the cells. This is not a battery fault; it is the protection circuit doing its job. Shorten the mowing zone boundaries temporarily and allow the new pack to condition over five full charge cycles before running the heaviest sections.
Charging station shows fault light after the mower sat unused all winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge over months of storage. If the pack voltage drops below roughly 12V — well under the 18V nominal — the charging station's acceptance circuit refuses to begin a charge cycle and flags a fault. To recover, place the battery on a compatible Li-ion charger capable of a low-current pre-charge (trickle) mode until cell voltage climbs back above the acceptance threshold, then return it to the docking station. If the station still shows a fault after voltage recovers to at least 14V, perform a station reset by unplugging it from mains for 30 seconds.
