- Netbot LS23 platform fit: The LS23 runs a 14.4V motor rail with a BMS that monitors cell voltage and current draw during navigation cycles. This replacement cell matches that voltage rail and communicates with the onboard BMS using the same handshake protocol — the robot will not flag a battery error on boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the LS23 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, current draw during carpet transitions stayed within the protection thresholds, and the charge termination voltage landed correctly at 16.8V.
- Dock charging habit on the LS23: The LS23 charges via its base dock, which does not always cut trickle current cleanly once the cell is full. Remove the robot from the dock after a full charge rather than leaving it docked permanently — continuous trickle current accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells noticeably faster than charge-only-when-depleted use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the LS23
This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. As the motor draws current through a partially blocked filter or brush roll, internal resistance in a degraded cell causes the voltage to sag below the BMS protection threshold early — cutting power to the motor before the charge indicator reflects low. A new cell with lower internal resistance maintains voltage under the same motor load. Before fitting the replacement, clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap — a restriction forces the motor to pull more amps, which will sag even a fresh cell faster than normal.
Motor cuts out mid-cycle then recovers after a few seconds
This points to a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When the LS23 transitions from hard floor to carpet, or when the brush roll catches a blockage, current draw spikes sharply. If the cell's capacity has faded, the BMS trips the overcurrent protection and cuts the motor — it resets after a few seconds once current drops. The fix is two steps: fit a fresh cell, then clear any debris from the brush roll and wash or replace the filter. A clean airpath reduces sustained amp draw and stops the BMS from tripping under normal carpet load.
