This is a 3.7V, 2400mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Infant Optics DXR-8 Pro and DXR-8PPZA parent unit. It powers the parent unit's display, wireless receiver, and IR night vision circuit. When the original battery loses capacity or stops holding charge, this is the direct swap.

Why the DXR-8 Pro parent unit drains overnight with the screen active
Running the DXR-8 Pro parent unit all night with the screen on is a sustained draw across the display backlight, wireless receiver, and audio circuit simultaneously. A degraded original battery often can't sustain that load and voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold before morning. This replacement cell provides the full 2400mAh capacity, but enabling the screen timeout in the parent unit's settings is the only way to reduce overnight draw. Set the display to auto-off and rely on the audio alert — that alone significantly extends the charge cycle.
Night vision not working after battery replacement
The IR LED array on the DXR-8 Pro camera unit draws from the camera's own power supply, but the parent unit's IR night vision display processing needs stable voltage to render the feed correctly. If night vision appears black or fails to activate immediately after a battery swap, the parent unit battery is likely not yet fully charged. Charge the parent unit to 100% before testing night vision — the IR display circuit requires voltage near the top of the 3.7V cell's range to initialise properly. Plug in, charge fully, then retest.
