Why this battery

  • Fits Inseego M2000, M2100, and 5G Mifi models — replaces OEM part numbers 1600007, 40123134, and 40123133.
  • Delivers 3.85V and 3500mAh capacity — supplies enough energy for full-day WiFi sharing across multiple connected devices.
  • Connector is a proprietary two-pin snap lock — slides into the battery slot with the tab facing the device edge.
  • We bench-tested this pack on the M2000 with four concurrent devices; BMS held voltage stable through cellular handoff cycles.
  • During extended hotspot sessions, ensure the device sits on a ventilated surface — the modem pulls heavy current in poor signal areas and generates heat that degrades the cell faster.

About this replacement

Inseego M2000 / M2100 5G MiFi — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1600007)

This 3.85V, 3500mAh lithium-polymer battery fits the Inseego M2000 and M2100 5G MiFi mobile hotspot devices. It replaces OEM part numbers 1600007, 40123134, and 40123133. The battery slots into the rear compartment and connects directly to the hotspot's power management board.

  • M2000 and M2100 platform fit: Both models share the same 3.85V power rail, physical footprint at 88.60 × 48.50 × 5.50mm, and BMS handshake protocol — so one cell works across the entire platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery under combined 5G modem plus simultaneous multi-device Wi-Fi load. The BMS held charge delivery stable and triggered protection correctly at low-voltage threshold without nuisance cutoff during active data sessions.
  • Ventilation during extended hotspot sessions: Keep the M2000 flat on an open surface when running extended sessions. The 5G cellular radio pushes maximum transmit power when client devices are far away — heat buildup at the rear panel sits directly against the battery cell and accelerates capacity loss over time.

Why the M2000 drops all connected devices mid-session under full load

The M2000 runs two power-hungry subsystems at once — the 5G modem and the Wi-Fi radio. When all available client slots are active and the modem is pulling maximum throughput, instantaneous current draw spikes well beyond the average idle load. If the battery cell has degraded internal resistance, voltage sags below the BMS protection threshold and the device shuts down to protect the cell. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage stable through those draw spikes without triggering cutoff.

M2000 won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks

Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. If the M2000 sat in a drawer for an extended period with the battery already partially depleted, the cell may have dropped below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V per cell for Li-Polymer. The BMS locks out charging as a safety measure when voltage falls this low. Connect the device to the OEM charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on; most chargers apply a trickle pre-charge that recovers the cell to a level where the BMS re-enables full charging.
