The fuel gauge in this unit is voltage-based, not coulomb-counted, so the indicator loses accuracy when cell internal resistance changes. A new cell recalibrates over two to three full charge-discharge cycles. Run two complete cycles — charge to 4.2V, use until auto-shutdown — and the indicator will track remaining capacity correctly.
