Iris Ohyama KIC-SLDCP5 Replacement Battery - Replaces CBL1815

$61.49In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Iris Ohyama KIC-SLDCP5, IC-SLDCP12, and IC-SLDCP5 stick vacuums; replaces OEM battery CBL1815.
  • 18V 1500mAh lithium-ion pack delivers full motor torque through carpet and hard floors without early cutoff.
  • Connector slides straight onto the dock contact plate with a locking tab that seats flush against the grip.
  • We ran full discharge cycles on the KIC-SLDCP5 platform; the BMS stabilized within two charge cycles with no fault codes.
  • Do not leave this cell on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades capacity over weeks; charge to full and remove immediately.

About this replacement

Iris Ohyama KIC-SLDCP5 / IC-SLDCP12 — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CBL1815)

This is an 18V 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Iris Ohyama cordless stick vacuum range. It fits the KIC-SLDCP5, IC-SLDCP5, and IC-SLDCP12 models. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold a full charge or the vacuum shuts off mid-clean.

  • KIC-SLDCP5 / IC-SLDCP12 platform: These three models share the same 18V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one replacement cell fits all three without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the full charge cycle and monitored BMS handshake at both charge-in and power-on. The protection circuit tripped correctly at undervoltage and reset cleanly on reconnect — no false cutoffs recorded under normal suction load.
  • Dock charging habit for this vacuum: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock contact keeps the BMS in a low-level trickle state that degrades cell capacity faster than normal use. Charge to full, then lift the vacuum off the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator hits low on the KIC-SLDCP5

The motor on this vacuum draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the floor nozzle is restricted. That extra draw pulls cell voltage down faster than the indicator expects, making the battery appear to discharge unevenly. The BMS reads a real voltage sag — not a faulty cell — and the vacuum loses suction while the LED still shows charge remaining. Clean the filter first; if the symptom continues with a clean filter, the original cell has degraded below usable capacity and a replacement is the fix.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when sustained restricted airflow forces the motor to pull more amps than the protection circuit allows. The BMS shuts the output, waits for current to drop, then resets — which is why the vacuum restarts on its own. The trigger is almost always a blocked filter or a tangled brush roll creating mechanical resistance. Clear the restriction and the trip stops; if it continues on a clean, unblocked vacuum, the original cell's internal resistance has risen enough that normal motor start current now exceeds the BMS threshold.
