Iris Ohyama SCD-120P Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CBL10820)
This is a 10.8V, 1900mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Iris Ohyama SCD-120P and related cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part CBL10820 and fits the SCD-121P, SCD-L1P, SCD-160P, and several additional models in the same platform. Capacity matches the original specification — 20.52Wh.
- SCD-120P platform compatibility: The SCD-120P, SCD-121P, SCD-L1P, and SCD-160P all share the same 10.8V battery rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits across the range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the SCD-120P platform. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start current draw and did not trigger false overcurrent cutoffs under normal suction load.
- Dock charging on stick vacuums: Do not leave the SCD-120P sitting on its charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging on this platform accelerates capacity fade faster than deliberate charge cycles. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The SCD-120P motor controller reduces power output when pack voltage sags under load — not when the indicator LED changes state. A partially blocked filter increases motor draw, which pulls voltage down faster than the indicator tracks. The result is noticeable suction loss while the battery still reads as charged. Clear the filter first, then test — if suction holds steady, the battery was not the issue.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the suction path is restricted — blocked brush roll, clogged post-motor filter, or a sealed floor nozzle — sustained current draw exceeds the BMS threshold and the pack shuts the circuit. After a few seconds the BMS resets and the motor restarts. Check and clear every filter stage before concluding the battery is faulty. If the trip still occurs on a clear machine, verify pack voltage under load stays above 9.5V.
