Converter will not recognise a new pack after months in storage
Li-MnO2 cells self-discharge slowly during storage, and if a pack sits long enough, the BMS can enter a sleep state below its recovery voltage threshold. The Itron Corus converter may show a blank battery indicator or refuse to power on, even with a new pack installed. Connect the instrument to its charger and hold the charge connection for at least 15 minutes — this gives the BMS enough trickle current to exit sleep mode and re-initialise. If the instrument still does not respond, verify the pack's resting voltage reads at or above 3.2V before concluding the pack is faulty.
