JBL KMC 600 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TD0535)
This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the JBL KMC 600 wireless microphone system. It fits the transmitter body pack and restores cordless operation when the original cell has degraded. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.
- KMC 600 transmitter compatibility: The KMC 600 transmitter draws continuous RF current during live use. Its BMS is calibrated to a 3.7V Li-ion cell — substituting a different voltage or chemistry trips the low-voltage cutoff early and causes erratic power readings on the transmitter's indicator.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on the KMC 600 transmitter and monitored BMS handshake at startup. The protection circuit engaged correctly at both full charge and low-voltage cutoff. No false shutdowns occurred during sustained transmit draw.
- Transmitter storage between gigs: If the transmitter sits unused for several weeks, discharge the battery to around 50% before storing. Li-ion cells left at full charge degrade faster, and the KMC 600's standby draw is low enough that the cell holds voltage without self-discharging to a dangerous level.
Why the KMC 600 transmitter cuts out mid-performance
The KMC 600 transmitter pushes a sustained current spike each time the RF stage fires. A degraded or low-capacity cell sags below the BMS cutoff voltage under that load, even if the battery indicator still shows partial charge. The transmitter interprets this voltage dip as a critical low and shuts off instantly. A fresh 3.7V cell with adequate capacity handles the transmit draw without sagging into the cutoff window.
Receiver losing lock on the transmitter after a battery swap
After fitting a new cell, the transmitter's RF module restarts from a cold state and does not automatically re-establish the link with the receiver. The receiver holds the last paired channel but loses lock because no signal was present during the swap. Power cycle both the transmitter and receiver after installing the new battery. The RF link re-establishes within a few seconds of the transmitter reaching full operating voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V on startup.
