JBL Xtreme 2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SUN-INTE-103)
This 7.4V, 6800mAh (50.32Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the JBL Xtreme 2 portable Bluetooth speaker. It fits JBLXTREME2BLKAM and JBLXTREME2BLUAM units. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or fails to power the speaker at all.

- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a JBL Xtreme 2 unit. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, balanced both cells correctly, and the fuel gauge tracked accurately across the full state-of-charge range.
- Monthly discharge cycle for Xtreme 2 users: If you top off this speaker before it drops below 50% every session, the fuel gauge will drift within a few months. Let it fall below 20% at least once a month before plugging in — this resets the coulomb counter and keeps capacity readings accurate.
Xtreme 2 audio cutting out at high volume on a new battery
At high volume, the Xtreme 2's amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw current simultaneously. If the battery has any internal resistance — from age or a degraded cell — voltage sags under that combined load. The BMS interprets the sag as a low-battery event and throttles output before the indicator shows empty. A fresh cell with low internal resistance holds the rail stable and prevents that premature cutoff. If you still see dropouts after fitting a new pack, check that the connector is fully seated.
JBL Xtreme 2 won't wake from USB-C after sitting discharged for weeks
Li-ion cells that sit in a deeply discharged state can drop below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell. At that point the charger handshake never completes and the speaker appears completely dead. Connect the speaker to a USB-C power source and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes — the BMS trickle-charges the cells back above the acceptance threshold before switching to full charge current. If the indicator LED still does not light after 30 minutes, measure cell voltage at the connector; below 5.0V across the pack means the cells are not recovering and the battery needs replacement.
