This 18V 2000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Karcher VC 4i, VC 4i Plus, and VC 4i Cordless handheld vacuum cleaners. It also fits the 064200 model. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly — 18V nominal, 36Wh total energy.
- VC 4i platform compatibility: The VC 4i, VC 4i Plus, VC 4i Cordless, and 064200 all share the same 18V battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits all four without any adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on VC 4i hardware. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination, over-discharge cutoff, and motor-start current draw without tripping or resetting abnormally.
- Dock charging habit for VC 4i users: Do not leave the VC 4i sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock charge exposes Li-ion cells to sustained trickle current, which accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The VC 4i motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — even a partially clogged filter can push draw well above the normal operating range. When current spikes, the BMS reads it as a potential overcurrent event and reduces output to protect the cell. The result is a noticeable suction drop that looks like battery exhaustion but is not. Check and clean the filter first before assuming the battery is at fault.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. Sustained restricted airflow — from a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to pull more current than the BMS protection threshold allows. The BMS cuts the circuit, the vacuum stops, and after cooling or reset it restarts. Clear the filter and nozzle completely, then test again. If cut-outs stop, the battery is functioning correctly and the restriction was the cause.
