About this replacement
KAZAM TV 4.5 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (KATV45)
This 3.7V 1800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the KAZAM TV 4.5 smartphone. It fits the TV 4.5 chassis directly, matching the OEM connector and physical footprint at 70.30 × 54.95 × 4.20 mm. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec: 3.7V nominal, 6.66Wh.
- TV 4.5 fitment: The TV 4.5 uses a removable battery bay with a fixed connector orientation. This cell matches that connector pin layout and sits within the bay dimensions without modification to the housing or contacts.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on compatible hardware. The BMS accepted the charging handshake without error flags, and protection circuits responded correctly at low-voltage and over-current thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the KAZAM TV 4.5 after a cell swap
After replacing the battery, the TV 4.5 may shut down abruptly while the percentage still reads 20–30%. This is a voltage cliff — under load from the modem or screen, the new cell's voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge catches up. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old, degraded cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's state of charge. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and eliminates the early cutoff.
TV 4.5 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
A Li-ion cell stored at low charge will self-discharge over weeks. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state and the phone will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 15–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC delivers a trickle current to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, after which normal charging resumes.
