This 6V 2100mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original cell pack in KERN EW-N, EG-N, EG-A04, and EG-A06 electronic scales. It matches the OEM voltage and form factor, fitting the internal battery bay without modification. Capacity is 2100mAh (12.6Wh), identical to the factory specification.
- EW-N/EG-N platform compatibility: These models share the same internal voltage rail, connector pinout, and battery bay dimensions. All four variants accept the GPRHC21HN036 cell pack without adaptation — the BMS handshake is consistent across the range.

Error code on the EG-N display after a battery swap
KERN EG-N scales store their zero-reference in volatile memory. When power is interrupted — including during a battery change — that reference is lost. The scale throws an error or E code because it has no valid zero-point to work from. Hold the Tare button for three seconds after the unit powers up. This forces a fresh zero-calibration and clears the error without a service call.
Weighing readings drifting in the first minute after power-on
The load cell amplifier in these scales draws current to stabilise its internal reference voltage after a cold start. Until that reference settles — typically within 30 seconds — the output signal drifts, and readings shift by a small but measurable amount. This is not a battery fault. Place no load on the pan for 30 seconds after switching on, then tare the scale before use. Readings will stabilise to within the rated accuracy of ±0.01g once the amplifier reaches a steady operating state.
