The DuraForce Pro 2's modem and display draw significant current spikes during active use. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC causes the OS to misread the remaining charge state. When actual cell voltage drops below the BMS protection threshold under load — typically around 3.4–3.5V — the phone shuts down even though the percentage display still reads 20–30%. One full slow-charge discharge cycle lets the coulomb counter map the new cell's actual discharge curve and eliminates the premature cutoff.
DuraForce Pro 2 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow entirely — the phone shows nothing on screen and does not respond to the power button. Connect the device to a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC applies a low-current trickle to bring the cell above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point normal charging resumes and the phone powers on.
