This 3.7V, 950mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part SCP-50LBPS in the Kyocera Kona S2150 and S2151, Coast S2151, and C2150 smartphones. The original cell on these phones degrades faster than average due to the device's compact chassis limiting heat dissipation during charge cycles. Capacity is 950mAh (3.52Wh) — matched to the stock specification.

- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full discharge and charge on the S2150 platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly, charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags, and voltage held stable at load across the full discharge curve.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Kona S2150
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. The S2150's modem and display draw a combined surge current that the cell cannot sustain once voltage sags below the phone's cutoff threshold — even when the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. A degraded or deeply discharged replacement cell hits this cliff earlier than a freshly cycled one. Run one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the coulomb counter reset its low-voltage endpoint.
Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show no response — no charge indicator, no boot. Connect to a wall charger (not a USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC on most Kyocera devices will trickle-charge a locked-out BMS back above the 3.0V recovery threshold before resuming normal charge.
